Dr. Anthony Levinson is an Associate Professor at McMaster University and holds the John R. Evans Chair in Health Sciences Educational Research and Instructional Development; one of North America's youngest academics to hold an endowed research chair. Dr. Levinson holds research funding and grants for the development and evaluation of instructional interventions. His primary areas of expertise include technology-enabled knowledge translation, knowledge management, information architectures, and instructional design. Through innovations in multi-media and technology-assisted learning, Dr. Levinson works to enhance healthcare provider and consumer education. Improving the health and satisfaction of healthcare consumers is a key interest.
Dr. Sarah Garside is an Associate Professor at McMaster University and the Associate Director of the Division of e-Learning for the MGD School of Medicine. Earlier in her career, she completed an Honors Arts and Science degree (with majors in English and Art) and obtained a PhD in Neuroscience. Dr Garside has research funding from HHSF, RCPSO and the Ontario Mental Health Foundation. Her areas of expertise include e-curriculum development, interactive e-learning module creation, asset development, Psychiatry, and Neuroscience. Her research is focused on evaluating the designs of e-learning modules to enhance knowledge translation, the assessment of multimedia assets and blended delivery models.
Ms. Colizza brings expertise in instructional design, program development and evaluation, and over 20 years experience in the health care and education sectors. Ms. Colizza has worked clinically as an applied behaviour analyst in neurorehabilitation/psychiatry and has held various educational and system development roles related to health human resource training. Ms. Colizza's interests in technology-enabled knowledge translation involves the innovative use of information and communication technologies and multimedia to enhance pedagogical techniques and traditional professional development models. Learning outcomes, knowledge utilization, and behaviour change are optimized by careful analysis of learning needs and context, and application of evidence-based principles of instructional design. Improving patient self-management skills and health outcomes through innovative models and tools is a primary interest.
Marie has been a member of the machealth team since 2004 and has worked in the healthcare sector for over 20 years. She holds an honours degree from the Ontario College of Art, with majors in both Fine and Experimental Arts, and has exhibited her work in Ottawa and Toronto. In addition to developing e-learning programs, Marie is responsible for the administrative side of machealth.
Edward brings the Machealth team more than a decade of media expertise including several years writing and delivering courses on digital imaging, photography, and illustration within the higher education sector. He enjoys participating as a technical assistant for scientific research expeditions ranging from British Columbia to Mexico and can also be spotted capturing the beauty of Killarney Provincial Park or diving in Lake Ontario.
Chad is the .Net Developer that builds much of the server code that runs the site. His professional background covers a wide variety of things including .Net programming, Flash, information security and database development. In short, he makes things work. If you don't notice his work then he's done a very good job of it.
