The Data Dashboard is intended to be a "snapshot" of how the early childhood system of services and supports is helping young children develop and thrive. It helps to track improvement in a place-based approach to optimizing early childhood development. It includes developmental outcomes, represented by third grade reading scores in Pacoima schools and by a kindergarten measure of developmental progress (the Early Developmental Index, or EDI). It also shows developmental progress for children ages 1-4 years of age based on assessments completed among a sample of children attending local WIC centers. In addition to these outcome measures, the Dashboard shows the rates of family hardships to aid in prioritizing changes and to track progress in reducing these hardships.
