Deanna Telner
Deanna Telner, MD, MEd, CCFP

Deanna, Chair of the BUC Initiative, is a family physician at the community-based teaching unit of the Toronto East General Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto. She is also a part-time researcher with a focus on educational research. She was involved in the development of the BUCI Toolkit and has authored several articles on the diagnosis and management of benign uterine conditions in the primary care setting.

Nathalie Gamache, MD FRCPS(C)

Dr. Nathalie Gamache graduated from the faculty of medicine of the University of Manitoba and completed a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. She then pursued a fellowship in Women’s Health, specializing in menopause, sexual health, premature ovarian failure and abnormal bleeding. She has recently joined the Shirley E. Greenberg Women’s Health Centre in Ottawa, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the promotion of health and care of women. She also has an appointment with the University of Ottawa where she teaches reproductive health to medical students and residents. She regularly speaks at medical conferences and public forum on menopause and sexuality. Dr. Gamache has been awarded two teaching awards for her excellence and dedication to health education for women and health care professionals.

Anthony Levinson
Anthony Levinson, MD, FRCP(C), MSc, MA

Dr. Levinson is a neuropsychiatrist and the Director, Division of e-Learning Innovation and machealth.ca. He is an Associate Professor at McMaster University and holds the John R Evans Chair in Health Sciences Educational Research and Instructional Development.

Susan Phillips, MD, CCFP, FCFP

Susan Phillips is a family physician and Professor in the School of Medicine, Queen's University. She has published widely on women's health, gender, and medical education, and, as the Chair of the Gender Issues Committee of the Council of Ontario Faculties of Medicine, has been very involved in creating an Ontario wide, web based, gender and health curriculum for medical schools.

Lorne Barrie, President of Medisim Corporation has been developing hi-tech realistic medical models for research and teaching with major universities and surgical companies worldwide for more than a decade. Medisim developed the Female Pelvic Model for the BUC initiative.

Luisa Barton
Luisa Barton, RN(EC) BScN MN NP PhD(c)

Luisa Barton is Regional Coordinator for the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program for Ryerson University, York University, and University of Toronto. She also teaches at Ryerson University and is a clinician (NP) at a downtown Toronto Community Health Centre, and is a coinvestigator in various interprofessional research projects and in collaboration with other departments at the University of Toronto. Luisa Barton participates in various committees involving clinical issues, professional regulation, and continuing education.

Christiane Kuntz
Christiane Kuntz, MD CCFP FCFP

Dr. Christiane Kuntz is an Ottawa area family physician with over 20 years of clinical experience in family practice who has developed a special interest in women's health issues and mood disorders. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa, a community faculty teacher for various levels of learners (for which she has been acknowledged with numerous teaching awards), a certified Menopause Practitioner by the North American Menopause Society, a Fellow of the Canadian College of Family Physicians, an active member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC), an expert in family practice and women's health issues as certified by the Ontario Superior Court, a co-investigator in several Canadian depression studies and an expert witness for the CMPA. She has given presentations to diverse groups including health professionals, trainees and lay audiences nationally, provincially and locally (in Ottawa). She has published several journal articles and book reviews. Her major professional focus is on community primary care and Family Medicine resident teaching.

Christine Rivet
Christine Rivet, MD CM MClSc CCFP(EM) FCFP

Dr Rivet is an associate professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She works and teaches family medicine at the Civic Campus Family Medicine Centre of the Ottawa Hospital. She has a special interest in teaching evidence-based medicine and Women's health and dermatological procedures.

Stephen Wetmore

Dr. Wetmore MD CCFP FCFP is an associate professor of family medicine at The Schulich School of Medicine, The University of Western Ontario. He practices at the Victoria Family Medical Centre in London and is currently the program director for family medicine. He has a special interest in teaching procedures in family medicine.
