Dr Nadia R Plach, Associate Clinical Professor of McMaster University's Division of Palliative Care within the Department of Family Medicine has recently updated this outstanding reference tool.
Designed as an educational tool for the pharmacotherapy of pain and symptom management in palliative care, the guide covers such pain management topics as assessment tools, opioid dosages and formulations, as well as an approach to common symptoms such as sedation, anorexia, dyspnea and others.
Dr Plach was the recipient of the Ontario College of Family Physicians' Award of Excellence for 2010.
