What do you get when you team up a master cardiology educator with our outstanding e-Learning team?
An online case-based conceptual approach to cardiology known to its friends as www.talesfromtheheart.ca.
Developed by Dr. Ernest Fallen, Dr Anthony Levinson, Mr Ed Mallon and the Division of e-Learning Innovation team at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University, Tales represents the first such comprehensive resource on cardiology, and a stunning example of excellence in online medical education. The ten interactive chapters cover a range of core concepts such as the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular syndromes such as angina, MI, valvular disease and others.
Dr Ernest Fallen: "We wanted to emphasize key concepts in cardiovascular physiology, so medical students and residents can better apply this knowledge in the care of their patients.”
We applied evidence-based methods to e-learning with case-based scenarios and multimedia in every byte. Since Al Gore invented the internet in 1992, health educators have been waiting for the thinking person's online cardiology resource.
Testimonials:
"I think it's phenomenal that this type of quality educational resource is available to the whole world. It gives me tachycardia just thinking about it." Dr U.O.
"My favourite animation is the explanation of the echo. Before, I thought I was looking in utero, now I see chambers and valves.” Dr. N.S.M.
Tales from the Heart is available to the globe on machealth at www.talesfromtheheart.ca.
