How do I create a blog post?

Only certain members have permission to create and post blogs, such as program managers. Contact the program manager if you’d like to request access to post a blog.

  1. To create a blog post from a program home page, navigate to the appropriate program.
  2. Click New. The option drop-down list appears. Click on Post to Blog.
  3. In the Write tab, enter a name in the Title field. In the Body field type, format, and/or add media to your blog post.
  4. If you want to set further options: click Options.
    1. Enter a desired URL in the Post URL field.
    2. If you want to set a future-date to publish your post, click the calendar under Publication Date. The month/day calendar appears.
    3. Click the desired publication date. The date appears in the Publication Date field in YYYY-MM-DD format.
    4. If you want to post the future-dated post at a specific time, edit the time in the Publication Date field.
    5. To attach a file or URL, click Upload file.
        1. Navigate to the desired file.
        2. Click Open.
    6. Under the Post Summarydrop-down list, select the desired option:
        1. No post summary - Does not display a summary.
        2. Automatic post summary - The default summary (appears in RSS, activity streams, emails, and blog post lists). Default is the first 250 characters of the post.
        3. Custom Summary - Select this if you prefer not to use the first 250 characters of the post.
    7. Notify me when someone comments on this post - When someone comments on the post, you will be notified by email. (Note that if you have not allowed notifications in your Settings, Email tab, you will not receive email notifications even if the Email Notification property is enabled on this blog setup page.)
    8. Make this post featured - Displays this post in the Featured Content Slider for the current program or sub-program.
  5. Click Post.
