"With a deepened focus on child development, the enhanced visit builds on the physical checkup and helps parents learn more about the ways they can help their kids get ready to learn and reach their full potential."
–Laurel Broten, Minister of Children and Youth Services.
"Ontario has recognized the critical importance of early child development and the role that primary care providers play in ensuring that all children meet their developmental potential. The new 18-month checkup will connect more families to community resources and more children to the services and support they need, improving the odds for Ontario's children."
–Dr. Robin Williams, Medical Officer of Health, Niagara Region
"Early child development sets the foundation for learning, behaviour and health. Getting kids on the right path in the early years is one of the best investments we can make as a society and helps us tap the tremendous human potential of our children."
–Dr. Fraser Mustard, The Founders' Network
