A program from The Lung Association on Asthma Action Plans for providers to develop baseline knowledge of the components and benefits of using an Action Plan with patients and describe the recommended steps for escalating therapy within an action plan.
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is funding the Ontario Thoracic Society’s Provider Education Program (PEP) to develop, implement and evaluate continuing medical education programs and materials promoting the implementation of the Canadian Asthma Consensus Guidelines and CTS COPD Guidelines for physicians and allied healthcare professionals in Ontario. The Provider Education Program has evolved based on the success of the Provider Education Project, one of the 14 ongoing programs within the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s Asthma Plan of Action.
