Informed Consent is an essential surgical skill that has moral, ethical and practical implications for the older patient. This resource provides three videos presenting the typical surgical informed consent, its potential aftermath, and an example of an effective informed consent. Although this resource is specifically designed for facilitators preparing for a small group session, the videos provide direct insight into the consent process and allow learners to explore the elements that make for a good consent process. The included article contains commentary and discussion questions surrounding the three videos and can be used by facilitators when planning a teaching session.
