This eModule tackles how to appropriately use the family meeting as a tool for delivering effective end of life care. This includes four important steps in all family meetings: (1) preparation, (2) pre briefing of staff, (3) conducting the family meeting, and (4) post meeting (debriefing of staff). There is particular emphasis on how to use the family meeting to elicit the patients values and develop patient appropriate and personalized care plans. Pre and Post tests are provided to assist in achieving the eModule learning objectives.
